VHK is a Netherlands-based private consultancy firm focused on technical policy research of energy efficiency, serving an international client base.

Being active in sustainable design policies and products for over 30 years, we operate with a compact team of engineering consultants reputed for their know-how and neutral stand.

Founding

VHK was founded in 1984.

Subsidiary

As of 2024, VHK is a subsidiary of Viegand Maagøe, a Denmark-based company focusing on energy efficiency and communication to also working strategically and operationally with both resources and sustainability in areas such as climate and environment, social sustainability and governance.

Research

We perform studies on Ecodesign, Energy Labelling and related measures. These include methodology development, general policy support, product-specific preparatory or impact assessment studies, related to energy efficiency:

• Technical product analysis, consumer-behaviour analysis, identifying energy saving design options, Life Cycle Cost analysis, technical modeling, environmental impact analysis, stock models, time series analysis, projections of future energy use, policy options, market transformation, procurement.
• Scope: governments, utilities and industry associations.
• Result: policy reports, technical models, specific presentation content.

Staff

VHK employs a mix of dedicated professionals and engineers (PhD., MSc. and BSc. levels).

For our financial administration, important especially for contracts with government organisations, we work with external certified accountants 'Ruitenburg Adviseurs en Accountants' in Delft who can supply a detailed insight in our financial affairs if required by contract.
