EU ENERGY STAR database Opens a new window

The EU ENERGY STAR database lists all ENERGY STAR qualified office equipment registered through both the EC and the US EPA that are placed in the EU market. Besides the technical implementation of the online database, VHK also performs the registration and ENERGY STAR compliance validation of EU product registrations.

EU ENERGY STAR website Opens a new window

The EU ENERGY STAR program follows an Agreement between the European Community (EU) and the Government of the US (PDF) to co-ordinate energy labeling of office equipment. It is managed by the European Commission. US partner is the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), that started the program in the US in 1992. The website contains all relevant legislation and information for participants to register their products.

Review study pumps Opens a new window

A study on pumps for the preparation of further and/or more advanced ecodesign and/or energy labelling requirements. The study will review and build upon Commission Regulation (EU) No 547/2012 and the preparatory studies on "Lot 28 waste water pumps" and "Lot 29 other pumps".

Preparatory study Ecodesign preparatory study on Compressors (LOT 31) oil free and low pressure Opens a new window

This study aims to provide the European Commission with a technical, environmental and economical analysis of compressors driven by electric motors, as required under Article 15 of the Directive 2009/125/EC on Ecodesign.

Preparatory study lighting systems Opens a new window

The Ecodesign Preparatory Study on Light Sources (ENER Lot 8/9/19) will provide the European Commission with a technical, environmental and economic analysis of light sources as required under Article 15 of the Ecodesign Directive 2009/125/EC.

Special review study on water heaters Opens a new window

A special study for Commission Regulation (EU) 814/2013 Article 7 (2) to assess the appropriateness of setting separate ecodesign requirements for different types of water heaters for review by the Ecodesign Consultation Forum.

MONICAIR consortium, 2016

Monicair is a pre-competitive research project for and with the Dutch ventilation industry, supported by the Netherlands government. It has monitored indoor air quality, related energy use and many physical and behavioural parameters in 60 dwellings over a whole calender year. The project, the largest of its kind, evaluated the performance of more than 10 different types of mechanical ventilation systems and came up with surprising results. Methodology for Ecodesign of Energy-related Products

This study provides the European Commission with an update and an extension of the existing methodology of MEEuP to arrive at a Methodology for the Ecodesign of Energy-related Products (MEErP), to be used in future preparatory studies for measures under the recast of the Ecodesign Directive 2009/125/EC.
The study is being carried out for the European Commission, under the framework contract TREN/R1/350-2008 Lot 3, Specific Contract No. SI2.581529, by COWI Belgium in collaboration with VHK in charge of operations.

An energy analysis of two products produced by Peteri BV: The Quooker PRO3-VAQ for boiling water and the Quooker COMBI for both boiling water and hot water. The analysis is split into two parts: The first part describes the performance of both Quookers when compared to other products producing boiling water. The second part focuses on the performance of the Quooker Combi as a water heater in the light of upcoming minimum energy efficiency requirements and energy labelling of dedicated water heaters.

Sinds 2005 kunnen vele energieverbruikende apparaten onderworpen worden aan Europese regelgeving betreffende hun minimale energie efficiency (Ecodesign Directive 2005/32/EC, herzien als 2009/125/EC). Om de effecten van deze regelgeving, en de samenhangende bestaande regeling op gebied van Energy Labelling (Energie-etikettering), te beschrijven, is in deze studie het verbruik van huishoudelijke elektrische apparaten berekend tot aan het jaar 2020 op basis van verwacht bezit, gebruik binnen huishoudens en de energie efficiency van apparaten volgens diverse scenario's. Het Hoofdrapport geeft de algemene conclusies en uitkomsten weer. De studie is in 2008 uitgevoerd in opdracht van SenterNovem (tegenwoordig RVO Nederland).
