Currently involved in micro CHP study for British Gas, SAVE studies for energy labeling of Central Heating Systems and Water Heaters, as well as studies on Future Energy Concepts for Novem. Ir. René Kemna
Background: Industrial Design Engineering at the Delft University of Technology. Co-founder/director of VHK.
International experience in design and engineering of whitegoods, lighting and (office) furniture industry (Italy, Germany, Netherlands). Teaching experience at the DUT and Design Academy in Eindhoven. Responsible for consultancy on energy efficiency policy and Ecodesign of electric domestic appliances and lighting. Involved in EU and IEA projects regarding energy policy support for refrigerators, washing machines, CH Pumps, water heaters and ovens. In 2001-2002 he had a mandate to represent the Netherlands as a permanent technical expert in the EU's Energy Labeling Regulatory Committee (ELRC). Ir. Martijn van Elburg

Ir. William Li
Background: Industrial Design Engineering at the Delft University of Technology. Design engineer and graphic designer at VHK.
Activities include product concept design, development and engineering, 3D CAD, 3D modeling and animation, software/user interaction design. Responsible for 2D/3D visual design and presentations. Ir. Jappe Zijlstra

Scientific council
Another category of support comes from advisors. VHK has a Scientific Council which safeguards the scientific approach in general and specifically contributes to topics of Technology Assessment.
The Council consists of prof.dr. Ph. Vergragt and prof.dr. J.M. Dirken.
Prof. dr. Eur. ing. J.M. (Hans) Dirken
Professor of Industrial Design Engineering and Product Ergonomics at the Delft University of Technology since 1972.
He has initiated and coached about 150 projects on product development in industry, innovating furniture, medical equipment, packaging etc. He has published several books and many articles on research projects and on developments in industrial design engineering.
Professor Dirken holds doctor degrees from the Amsterdam University (NL) and the Brunel University (UK) and a Eur Ing degree.
He has held positions as Rector Magnificus of the Delft University of Technology, Dean of the faculty of Industrial Design Engineering, chairman of the Dutch Consumers Union, member of the National Energy Council and of many other boards. Fluent in Dutch and English and reads other European languages.
Prof. dr. ir. Philip J. Vergragt
Prof. Dr Philip J. Vergragt is currently a Visiting Scholar at MIT, Centre for Technology, Policy and Industrial Development, Massachusetts, a Visiting Senior Fellow at Tellus Institute, Boston, and a Visiting Professorial Fellow at the Manchester Business School, University of Manchester, UK. He is Emeritus Professor of Technology at Delft University of Technology, The Netherlands.
After he took a Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry he worked as a lecturer in Chemistry and Society, was a researcher in Technology Dynamics, and later worked as a policy maker at the Dutch Ministry of the Environment. As a Deputy Director of the 5-ministries Sustainable Technological Development (STD) Programme, he directed "back-casting" projects in fields as the hydrogen economy and the household. He currently directs the international EU-funded project "Strategies towards the Sustainable Household". He takes a special interest in the interplay between technology and culture.
Professor Vergragt was born in 1945 and is the proud father of two adult children, a daughter and a son.
Prof. dr. ir. Han Brezet
Professor of Design for Sustainability at the Delft University of Technology, faculty of Industrial Design Engineering.
Professor Brezet studied electrical engineering at the Delft University of Technology, after which he took a Ph.D. at the Erasmus University Rotterdam in the field of environmental sociology. With his background as a consultant for clean production, he is currently also research director at the Kathalys centre for sustainable product innovation.

For our financial administration, important especially for contracts with government organisations, we work with external certified accountants 'B&L Accountants' in Delft who can supply a detailed insight in our financial affairs if required by contract.
